Hi, I’m Jess! On a good day, you’ll find me with my two children and my camera. On a great day, I’ll have a cup of coffee, too! I’ve been shooting Maryland photography for 8 years in Howard County, Maryland. While I often consider myself a Maryland family photographer, I do everything; weddings, families, branding, newborns, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs, maternity, boudoir, cake smashes, graduation photography in and around Ellicott City, Maryland. You may notice my styles vary from bight and airy to dark and moody. That’s simply because no human’s styles are a like, so your photos should be a reflection of what you love. Please chat with me about what you prefer or I’ll use my artistic judgement to bring your images to life.
As a mother of 2 tots, I can relate to life being hectic. With that being said, I’m the most easy going and forgiving photographer! If your child is sick or you had a crazy day and just can’t make our session work no need to panic! I’ll easily move your session around a better time that works well for you, because life happens! Prior to my career in photography, I worked in the software space in Howard County, Maryland; helping brands power up their marketing strategy. After having children I took a step back from that world, but fell even more in love with photography as I captured the joy and curiosity on my children’s faces. Motherhood is busy. I found in order to be my best self, I needed something more, a way to express myself creatively; photography was it.
The need for a creative outlet was just one reason why I turned to photography. Like many other families, our family was impacted by the global pandemic in 2020. With young children, our daily social activities in Howard County had reached a screeching halt. The early months of the pandemic were grueling, and I turned to Photography as a way to keep busy at a safe distance. After some considerable thought, I decided to take my hobby to the streets of Howard County, mask on of course.
Born and raised in Clarksville, Maryland, I have sought out the best natural settings for photography. I’ve made connections with venues from Sykesville to Historic Ellicott City and can’t wait to explore them with you. I specialize in capturing natural, non-posed, candid photographs, so just be yourself and the emotions will pour out of your photographs.
I can’t thank my family, friends and fellow photographers enough for their educational and moral support during my journey into photography. My husband in particular has supported me in ways a partner could only dream of. I simply wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for all of you.
