A Trip through the lavender fields

Maryland Family Photographer

The sun was setting as I arrived at Kharis Lavender Fields in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The air was warm and still, and the only sound was the occasional buzzing of a bee. The lavender fields were in partial bloom, and the purple flowers stretched out as far as the eye could see!

I was here to photograph a family of four, plus their parents and sister. They were all dressed in light, summery clothes, and they looked so happy to be there!

We started by taking some photos of the family walking through the lavender fields. The light was perfect at this time of day, and the lavender was so fragrant. The children were running and laughing, and the parents were just beaming with happiness.

After a while, we moved to a more secluded spot in the fields. I wanted to get some photos of the family with the lavender in the background. We took some photos of the parents holding their children, and some photos of the children playing together.

We were all having so much fun that we didn't even notice that the sun had started to set. By the time we were finished, the sky was ablaze with color. The lavender fields were bathed in a warm glow, and it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to capture this family's special memories in the lavender fields. It was a perfect summer evening for Maryland family photography, and I'll never forget it.

Tips for Photographing Lavender Fields

  • The best time to photograph lavender fields is at sunset, when the light is soft and golden.

  • Choose a location with a variety of backgrounds, such as rolling hills or a backdrop of mountains.

  • Wear light, summery clothes that will blend in with the lavender.

  • Bring a camera with a wide-angle lens to capture the full beauty of the fields.

  • Be patient and let the lavender do the talking.

What to Wear to a Lavender Field Photoshoot

  • Soft, muted colors will complement the lavender and look cohesive without matching.

  • White, soft greys, creams, and blues are all good choices.

  • Avoid bright colors, as they will stand out too much.

  • If you're wearing a patterned outfit, make sure the pattern is not too busy.

  • You can also add accessories to your outfit, such as a hat
